The Person
These are exciting times for Bees Abroad and we seek a diverse and enthusiastic group of individuals to join our board. You may be passionate about international development, about grass-root community support, sustainability, or passionate about beekeeping itself.
You will bring excitement about our work, professional abilities in one or more of our target skill sets, and the time, motivation and energy to contribute fully to the life of our charity and our international community. In this round of recruitment, we specifically seek skills or experience in the following areas:
路 Governance
路 Accounting and Finance (Treasurer role, qualified accountant)
路 International Development, specifically an understanding of countries or a country within Africa, community development, African diaspora
路 Social Enterprise
路 Strategic fundraising
It is expected that some Trustees may come from the beekeeping community whilst others will bring experience from outside of this.
Specifically for the Chair of Trustees, we seek the following:
路 Authentic leadership skills with good communication and interpersonal skills. Impartiality, fairness and the ability to respect confidences
路 Experience within the charity space, ideally developing and leading the growth of a charity
路 The ability to build consensus, help set strategic direction and understand the governance and regulatory responsibilities of a charity
Whilst we seek individuals with the above skill sets for this specific round of recruitment, we also welcome contact from those who would like to contribute to Bees Abroad鈥檚 work more generally. We have opportunities in fundraising, partnership management of projects, corporate sponsorship and development, events management and delivery and those interested in becoming ambassadors for our work.
